1) Global day of Parents
The Global Day of Parents is observed on June 1 every year. The United Nations General Assembly established this day to express international awareness about the importance of parenthood and to promote the healthy development of children by their parents. This is an important opportunity to reflect on the importance of parenthood and promote the healthy development of children. It is also a day to raise awareness about the challenges faced by parents and to highlight the need for support and resources. This day encourages us to express gratitude to our parents, recognising their role as our first teachers and nurturers and also emphasises the importance of a healthy parent-child relationship based on trust and respect.
2) World Bicycle Day
Since its establishment in 2018, World Bicycle Day has been marked annually on 3 June by advocates in many countries. Adopted through a UN General Assembly resolution spearheaded by the Government of Turkmenistan, World Bicycle Day recognizes “the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle… a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transport, fostering environmental stewardship and health.” Proponents encourage the use of the bicycle as a means of eradicating poverty; furthering sustainable development; strengthening education, including physical education, for children and young people; promoting health; preventing disease; and facilitating social inclusion and a culture of peace.
More recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed transport needs and behaviour, prompting many cities to rethink their transportation systems. As part of efforts to “build back better”, cycling is pitched as a healthy, green and economical transport alternative. A new UN General Assembly resolution adopted in 2022 on “Integration of mainstream bicycling into public transportation systems for sustainable development” reinforces these principles. Through this resolution, governments commit to promote the bicycle among all members of society, including people of all ages, urban and rural, and develop a culture of bicycling in society.
WHO actively promotes cycling for its myriad benefits to health and the environment, including increasing physical activity, reducing noncommunicable diseases such as cancer and diabetes, and decreasing air and noise pollution. Like governments worldwide, it also recognizes cycling as a facilitator of achievement of many Sustainable Development Goals, including those on education, energy, employment, cities and inequalities. The underlying premise is that in order to unleash the potential of cycling, roads must be safe. In line with World Bicycle Day, WHO has released a range of resources and materials to promote cycling, improve road safety and enhance the health and well-being of people and the places they live, work and play.
3) International Day of Drug Abuse
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking or World Drug Day, is marked on 26
June every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. This year’s
World Drug Day campaign recognizes that effective drug policies must be rooted in science, research, full
respect for human rights, compassion, and a deep understanding of the social, economic, and health
implications of drug use.
Together, let us amplify our efforts to combat the global drug problem, guided by the principles of
science, compassion, and solidarity. Through collective action and a commitment to evidence-based
solutions, we can create a world where individuals are empowered to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Tens of millions of people suffer from drug-use disorders. Less than one fifth are in treatment. Drug
users are doubly victimized: first by the harmful effects of the drugs themselves, and second by the
stigma and discrimination they face.People who use drugs can often face significant barriers to treatment
and even health services for infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS and hepatitis. Meanwhile, drug traffickers
continue to prey on drug users, rapidly escalating the production of dangerous, highly addictive synthetic
drugs.
This year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking focuses on the need to put people
first by ending stigma and discrimination and strengthening prevention. This means stressing
rehabilitation, rather than punishment and incarceration for minor drug offences. It means upholding the
human rights of people who use drugs, including by expanding prevention and treatment programmes and
health services. It means protecting people and communities alike by ending impunity for drug traffickers
profiting from people’s pain.
Above all, it means Governments leading the way. When I was Prime Minister of Portugal, we
implemented non-criminal responses to drug possession for personal use, while cracking down on
traffickers and re-allocating resources to prevention, treatment and harm-reduction measures. As a result,
drug consumption and associated infectious disease rates plummeted, more drugs were seized by police
and customs, and — most importantly — lives were saved. Today, Portugal has one of Europe’s lowest
overdose and death rates from drug use. As a global community, let’s continue our work to end drug
abuse, illicit trafficking, and the stigma endured by drug users around the world.
4) World Environment Day
World Environment day is celebrated on the 5th of June every year. More than 100 countries Worldwide join in the celebration of the World Environment day. It was started by the United Nations Environmental Program in the year 1973 and has been continuing till now. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to spread awareness about the Environment.
What is Environment?
Scientifically speaking, everything around us constitutes our Environment. Both living and non-Types of the Equation of the Motion living things make up our Environment. The living or biotic components include plants, animals and microbes, while the non-living or abiotic components include air, water, soil and so on.
Why is it Necessary to Save the Environment?
The Environment is one of the most important tools for our survival on planet Earth. The Environment nurtures us and helps us survive. We cannot imagine life without air, water and soil. The biotic components like plants and animals are also important survival tools. Plants help purify the air around us. We get food from plants and animals.
All the components of the Environment are dependent on each other in a web of relations known as the ecological web. It is necessary to maintain this web in balance because if one component collapses then the entire web will crumble destroying all life forms. This is why we must choose to work towards preserving the Environment and undoing the damage we did.
Eight Simple Things that can help to Protect the Earth
- Reduce, reuse, and recycle – Reduce is the waste that you throw away. Follow the three “Rs” to conserve natural resources and a landfill.
- Volunteers – Volunteer to clean up your community. You can take part in protecting your water Environment, too.
- Education – As you further your education, you can help others understand the value and importance of our natural resources.
- Save water – The water you use is low, decreases the flow and polluted water eventually seeps into the sea.
- Shop wisely – Buy a small plastic bag and carry a reusable shopping bag.
- Use durable lights – Energy-efficient lamps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. And turn off the light when you leave the room!
- Plant a tree – Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help fight climate change.
- Do not send chemicals into our water – Choose non-toxic chemicals at home and in the office.
5) Father’s Day
The only person I always admire in my life is my dad who I love. I still remember all my childhood memories with my dad. They are the real reason for my happiness and happiness. Because of who I was, my mother was always busy with kitchens and other household chores and these ‘dads’ celebrated with me and my sister. I think he is the best father in the world. I feel blessed to have such a father in my life. I always thank God for giving me the opportunity to be born into such a wonderful family.
He is a humble and peaceful person. They never scolded me and took all my mistakes lightly and very politely and made me see all my mistakes. He is the head of the family, and he helps all members of the family through difficult times. They share their mistakes and their successes in life to tell me. He has his own online marketing business, yet he never pressures or pulls him forward in the same field, instead he always encourages me with whatever I want to be in my life. He is a good father not only because he helps me but also because of the knowledge, the power, the helpful environment and especially in treating people fairly.
Father’s Day is a day in the year when children give their father presents and gifts and one big thing, which is love. Father’s Day is just one day, but what about each day of the year? Fathers’ Day should be a daily occurrence because fathers are generous and do much to help their children.
Every father is a constant support system and mentor for their child. He’s the one I always look up to when I find myself in trouble. My father has been leading me in all my major decisions in life. He is a hardworking and loving person. Dad loves movies. Whenever he gets time, he likes to watch an old movie. In fact, we are sometimes told who controls the television. But, deep down, we like to tease each other and play again. Dad doesn’t like to do anything. Sometimes during the holidays, when he and my sister do nothing and do nothing, he gives us one job or another. And he is very organized and keeps all his papers organized.
My Dad – My Model:
Every father is a good example for his children. First of all, I commend your love of work. He is always there to help his mates, even if it is not his job. In fact, we may find him spending hours helping others. After all, my father is just a man. He does not like expensive things and lives a simple, peaceful life. Otherwise he does not scold anyone. I wonder if something is wrong with her because she takes everything in order and gives herself time to decide.
My father – My Friend:
My father is also my friend. I can talk about everything with my dad, even those who have the courage to talk in front of my mom. I know he should keep it a secret and give me the advice I need. He is the one I can count on not to see whenever I need help, and I know he will help me.
Importance of Father in Family
Father plays a vital role in the development of the family. He is actually considered the head of the family. However, I feel that fathers and mothers have a special role to play in raising their children. Although a mother is gentle, the father shows courage and strength to his children, who will later take him seriously. It may be difficult at times, but be sure to always benefit the children.
My father as a Source of Inspiration
I can proudly say that it was my father who inspired me from day one. In other words, his attitude and personality influenced me as a person. In the same way, he still has a great influence on the environment around his narrow paths. Dad spends his free time caring for the lost animals, which encourages me to do the same. All my knowledge in sports or cars comes from my father.
Conclusion:
There is no doubt that my father’s role is important in my life. Your presence is important in maintaining equality and peace in my family. The father is the one who gets the bad daddy’s badge and his denial of anything means a lot to the kids. I also respect my father and try to develop the qualities needed to be like him when I grow up.
6) World Blood Donar Day
World Blood Donor Day takes place on 14 June each year. The Day was created to a) raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusionñ b) highlight the critical contribution voluntary, unpaid blood donors make to national health systems ñ, and c) support national blood transfusion services, blood donor organizations, and other non-governmental organizations in strengthening and expanding their voluntary blood donor programs by reinforcing national and local campaigns.
The day also provides an opportunity to call to action governments and national health authorities to provide adequate resources to increase the collection of blood from voluntary, unpaid blood donors and to manage access to blood and the transfusion of those who require it.
To ensure that everyone who needs transfusion has access to safe blood, all countries need voluntary, unpaid blood donors who give blood regularly. An effective blood donor program, characterized by the broad and active participation of the population, is crucial in meeting the need for blood transfusion during peacetime as well as during emergencies or disasters when there is a surge in demand for blood or when the regular operation of blood services is affected.
While an enabling social and cultural atmosphere with strong solidarity facilitates the development of an effective blood donor program, it is also widely acknowledged that the act of blood donation contributes to generating social ties and building a united community.

10) World Music Day
Back in 1982, a survey in France showed that five million people (approximately 9 per cent of the population at the time) played a musical instrument. The Minister for Art and Culture, Jack Lang, and Maurice Fleuret, a composer, decided to find a way to get as many people as possible playing music for everyone to hear. They launched ‘La Fête de la Musique’. There is a play on words in the name: La Fête de la Musique means ‘Music festival’ and ‘Faites de la musique’ (pronounced in the same way) means ‘Make music!’
What happens on World Music Day?
On this day, people listen to and play music in their local area. You can listen to music in the street, outside bars and cafés, in parks and other public spaces. You don’t have to pay for these concerts – the musicians play for free. World Music Day encourages all amateur and professional musicians, young and old, to perform and it aims to make all genres of music available to the public.
What sort of music can you hear on World Music Day?
As all music genres are encouraged on World Music Day, you could listen to a jazz band, a rock group, an orchestra, a choir, a samba band, a reggae sound system or a techno DJ … whoever happens to be playing in your local area. It’s a great way to discover types of music that you didn’t know – for free!
What about online events for World Music Day?
If there are no World Music Day events where you live or if you are unable to attend face-to-face, there are lots of online events which take place on this special day. Live-streamed events such as the day-long Make Music Global Livestream make it possible to discover and enjoy live music from all over the world. Happy World Music Day!
11) International Tennis Day
International Tennis Day is an annual celebration of our wonderful game occurring on June 20. Each participating court has a banner to take photos in front of—we encourage everyone to play as often as possible, especially on this day to commemorate.
June 20 was chosen for the celebration of International Tennis Day as it falls on the anniversary of the Tennis Court Oath, taken on June 20, 1789 by nearly 600 people at a tennis court near the Palace of Versailles. The Tennis Oath was a pivotal event at the start of the French Revolution. Jacques-Louis David’s iconic 1791 painting “Le Serment du Jeu de Paume” is perhaps the most famous image of a tennis court. To celebrate the painting and its communal message of hope and change, International Tennis Day was started on June 20 in 2014.
Players and clubs around the world celebrate in their own way through playing, tournaments, clinics, and parties. Let’s see what some of the pros had to say.

12) World Food Safety day
World Food Safety Day is June 7. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization and World Health Organization which sponsor World Food Safety Day have designated “Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected” as the theme for 2024. The purpose of this year’s theme is to draw attention to sudden food safety incidents and underline the importance of being prepared for such incidents, no matter how severe they may be.
Food safety incidents are situations where there is a potential or confirmed health risk associated with food consumption. A food incident can happen, for example, due to accidental contamination, inadequate food processing controls, extreme weather events, or natural disasters. While being ready to manage food safety incidents requires dedicated efforts from policymakers, food safety authorities, farmers and food business operators, consumers also have an active role to play.
Protecting Food and Water During Natural Disasters
With the increasing frequency, intensity and extent of weather events or natural disasters that cause power outages, floods, and disrupt local travel for food shopping and deliveries, it’s vital that consumers know how to protect food and water during hurricanes and other storms. It’s equally important that households assemble emergency food supplies that don’t require refrigeration or cooking to be safe.
